McCullough has conducted extensive music research employing the focus group technique for the recording industry and recording artists. Most notably for Capital Records and Warner Brothers Records. He has been a research consultant to News Talk and Rock 'N' Roll Radio Stations dealing with positioning, format, advertising, listener surveys, listener focus groups and promotions. He conducted an audience survey at The BAMMIES AWARDS (Bay Area Music Awards).
